TJC baseball wins first game of District C tournament

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Playoffs and tournaments bring their own pressure, but for the Tyler Junior College baseball team, the District C Tournament brings extra weight.

For the last time, the NJCAA World Series is set to be held here in Tyler next week and the Apaches must win the District C tourney to participate as the host team.

TJC got off to a good start in the District C Tournament by knocking off North Arkansas 8 to 2. Trailing 1 to 0 in the third inning, the Apaches erupted for six runs in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.

The apaches will play at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Mike Carter Field against Eastfield College.
