Palestinians Mourning Arafat's Death

The body of Yasser Arafat left Paris this morning aboard a French Army helicopter on the first leg of its journey to Cairo.

The Palestinian leader passed away at a military hospital on the outskirts of Paris.

In Ramallah, Palestinians vented their anger and grief. This is the first of 40 days mourning their leader of 40 years.

Some set fire to tires, while others fired shots in the air.  Meanwhile, masked children with toy guns vowed to carry on Yasser Arafat's fight for a Palestinian state.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, said today Arafat's death could be a "turning point for the Middle East..." depending on who succeeds the controversial leader.
