SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
A Smith County man was sentenced to probation Friday for his involvement in a December 2013 incident.
David Arroyo, Jr., 31, of Tyler was arrested December 11 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Arroyo went to a home in Smith County to see his daughter. He got into an argument with his daughter's mother at the home and pulled a gun on her. He fled the area and police later obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Multiple witnesses were at the home when the alleged assault occurred.
Arroyo was shot and wounded when his father, David Arroyo, Sr., opened fire outside the Smith County Courthouse in February of 2005. Two people, including Arroyo, Sr.'s estranged wife, were killed.
