Released by the Texas Department of Transportation:
NACOGDOCHES, TX - The Texas Department of Transportation is advising caution for motorists traveling through the intersection of Business 59 (North St.) and Davis Street in Nacogdoches beginning Tuesday morning, May13, 2014. The traffic signal is scheduled to be removed and replaced by a Stop Sign on Davis Street.
According to TxDOT, on Tuesday, the existing signal will be placed in flash mode with BU 59 (North St.) utilizing a yellow flashing signal allowing traffic to proceed through the intersection with caution but without stopping. Davis Street will have a red flashing signal which means traffic must stop before continuing thru the intersection. This operation will be in place for six weeks after which the signals will be covered and TxDOT’s contractor will remove all signal components. Stop Signs will then be permanently installed on Davis Street.
TxDOT urges travelers to obey all traffic laws, and continue to use extreme safety as it may take weeks for drivers to get acclimated to the changes.
