FRIO COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas inmate who walked away from a Cherokee County jail on Wednesday night has now been apprehended.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said 23-year-old Thomas Kyle Wagoner was arrested by U.S. Marshals at a residence in Frio County, Texas. He was taken to Medina County Jail in Hondo where he currently awaits extradition back to Cherokee County.

A second person at the residence was arrested for permitting or facilitating escape. That individual's name has not yet been released.

Wagoner was an outside trusty at Cherokee County Jail when he walked off. He was originally arrested in February 2014 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.
