SHREVEPORT, LA (KLTV/KSLA) - Louisiana State Police said the public should consider a wanted former Louisiana sheriff's deputy to be armed and dangerous.

Former DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Deputy Jeffery Humphries, 34, of Stonewall, LA is wanted for three counts of molestation of juveniles in Bossier Parish.

Louisiana State Police Trooper Brett Davis said there is no indication Humphries is headed to East Texas.

Humphries is 5'11" tall, and weighs about 160 pounds. He may be using the alias Jason Scott Bowen, police said. He was last seen in the Minden area. And troopers say that's where they are focusing their search right now.

State police searched a building in Minden where they thought Humphries was hiding but did not find. Troopers did find a broken window but it is unclear who broke the window at this time.

Police said the public should be cautious and not approach Humphries due to his extensive background in law enforcement and military experience. He also is a trained martial arts fighter.

Contact the state police Troop G at 318-741-7461 with more information about Humphries' whereabouts.

When the town of Gilmer is mentioned in relation to sports, the Buckeyes powerhouse football program immediately comes to mind. And that's fair considering they have won three state titles and racked up 13 double digit win seasons since 2000. But a small 1A school about nine miles away deserves some attention these days as well.
