The following is a list of road closures for Southwest Louisiana.
The information is provided by the state Department of Transportation and Development and the dates and times are subject to change.
CALCASIEU PARISH: North Kirkman Street, from North Railroad Avenue to Jackson Street, will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Crews will remove a section of the road for installation of a sewer service.
CALCASIEU PARISH: La. 397 at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing near Interstate 10 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Northbound traffic will be detoured west on US 90, north on US 171 then east on La. 3020 while southbound traffic will be detoured west on La. 3020, south on US 171 then east on US 90.
CALCASIEU PARISH: La. 397 at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing near East Prien Lake Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. Northbound traffic will be detoured La.14, north on US 171 and then east on US 90. Southbound traffic will be detoured US 90, south on La. 14 and then east on La. 14.
CALCASIEU PARISH: As the Sale Road bridge project continues, roadwork will move to the east side of the bridge on Friday, Aug. 22. Traffic to and from Timberlawn Drive will only be accessible from the west during this temporary closure. This phase of the project is expected to continue through November.
CALCASIEU PARISH: The LaFleur Beach/Prien Lake exit on Interstate 210 will be closed until January 2015. The closure is necessary so that crews can build a new exit ramp for the Cove Lane Interchange project. Eastbound traffic will be directed to the Nelson Road exit. Traffic on West Prien Lake Road will be routed to the Kiwanis Lane roundabout.
LAFAYETTE PARISH: Albertson Parkway between Groveland Drive and Hillbrooke Drive was closed for three months to allow for improvements to the drainage system in the Holiday Gardens area.
ACADIA PARISH: The Acadia Parish Police Jury has advised that the bridge on Connie Road, west of La. 19 has been closed indefinitely to through traffic.
VERNON PARISH: Work will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2 on La. 399. The closure will last for approximately three months and will include the area of La. 399 from La. 10 to the Fort Polk Maintained Area.
ST. MARTIN PARISH: There will be alternating lane closures on Interstate 10 eastbound on the Achafalaya Basin Bridge, between mileposts 117 and 127, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 2, 7, 8, and 9. Westbound alternating lane closures will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 3-4, 6 and 10.
