Authorities are hoping East Texans can identify a vehicle used in an armed robbery on April 16.

According to the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, a man was robbed while pumping gas at Zippy J's located at 5136 Estes Parkway near Lakeport. Around 4:20 a.m., a store customer was at the fuel pump when an unidentified suspect with a silver revolver sat down next to him in the passenger seat of his vehicle.

The armed suspect took a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone, an iPhone and undisclosed amount of cash from the man. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another male suspect.

As the suspects were leaving the gas station parking lot, the victim reached for his firearm and managed to fire four shots at the suspects. Police believe there may be one or more bullet holes in the right side or back side of the car.

The suspects are described only as black males. The vehicle is described as a maroon, four-door Chevrolet Impala or Malibu.
