Two East Texas men face multiple charges after fleeing a police officer on Monday.
Around 12:18 p.m., Longview police were dispatched to ABC Auto Storage at 918 West Marshall Avenue to investigate reports of a building that had been burglarized.
When officers arrived on scene, they were told a storage building behind the business had been broken in to and multiple valuable items had been taken. Tool boxes containing brand new tools worth thousands of dollars and two four-wheelers were among the items stolen.
After officers investigated and left the scene, the man who reported the burglary called Longview police again to report that he had recovered some of the stolen items and found that another storage building had been broken in to.
The caller led officers down a trail and into a wooded area where he located some of the stolen items. There, police located the two four-wheelers and several other stolen items outside of what appeared to be a camp. Officers spotted two men walking near the camp. The men ran as soon as they realized they had been seen. Both men were located and detained a short time later.
Both were arrested and taken to the Gregg County Jail without further incident.
One suspect, identified as Derrick Bray 41, of Marshall was arrested and charged with evading arrest, burglary and theft. The second subject, identified as Legacy Lynn Roach 21, of Longview, was arrested and charged with theft, evading arrest and burglary.
