Family says state workers could have saved child

We continue to use all of our resources to make sure you know what's going on and what to expect from these storms that have run rampant through much of the country.  We have sister stations all over the country and will be bringing you video and information from them that you won't be able to see anywhere else here in East Texas.  Join us tonight at 10 for the latest.

Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto will have your brand new forecast for you at 10.  He'll let you know whether we need to brace for any rough weather here in East Texas.

Tonight at 10, Melanie Torre has a new in-depth report on a family who says CPS left their loved one with an abuser and the child died because of it.  Melanie has been looking into the records surrounding Deacon Garay's death at the hands of his step-father.  The records show that Deacon died from abuse not long after CPS investigators closed their investigation of his living conditions.  Deacon's relatives share information with you they say proves CPS could have saved Deacon's life and didn't. CPS will also explain why their caseworker made the decision that he did.
