Bank Employee Arrested For Theft

An East Texas bank employee is arrested and charged with theft.

Terri Lee, 46, was in charge of collecting money for Guaranty Bond Bank's annual golf tournament.

According to Mt. Pleasant police, last week, bank officials reported some serious discrepancies in its audit. During 2000-04, the audit showed more than $11,530 unaccounted for and $2,550 in questionable withdrawals. Police say Lee is responsible.

Lee has bonded out of Titus County Jail.

She no longer works for the bank. Lee is also no longer with the Titus Regional Medical Center, where she worked, as of last week.

Today, she resigned from the board of the Titus County Chamber of Commerce. She is a past president.
