LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Supporters of the Affordable Care Act paid a visit to an East Texas congressman’s office to voice their opposition to talks of repeal.

Members of a group called 'Organizing for Action' visited Congressman Louie Gohmert's Longview office in support of the Affordable Care Act.

Some members say they have already been rescued by affordable health care and their message to Gohmert, who was not in his office, was simply that the act is working. They came to press their views on the congressman's repeal stance.

"I'm not paying a whole lot of money. I do get a government stipend. I have very good insurance with government help," said supporter Carlyn Short.

Another supporter agreed.

"I'm insured, but there are so many people that are not insured, and if they get it, its so high they can't afford it," said Maxine Golightly.

Gohmert contacted KLTV late today and said he was 'not' scheduled for a meeting with the group, and was not notified they we going to be at his office.

All of the members of the citizens group reside in Gohmert's congressional district.
