The third annual East Texas idol competition was held in Longview on Saturday. Hip-hop, Christian, country or rock and roll-- if you could sing it, the kids were doing it at Lobo Coliseum at Longview high school.
Over 100 kids in two different age groups faced off for a chance at bringing home a prize. Contestants could win cash, gifts and time at a professional recording studio. The junior winner was 12 year-old Cheyenne Smith of Ore City and the senior winner was Donald Young of Longview. Both of these talented individuals walked away with over 45-hundred dollars in cash and prizes.
