SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have charged a local man they have linked to the molestation of two little girls.

Donald Meshell Jr. was arrested in Webster Parish last week and extradited to Caddo Parish Friday. He is being held at Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of molestation of juveniles.

Police say the charges stem from the allegations of a 9-year-old girl who reported to her parents last week that she had been molested. Detectives were able to identify Meshell, 48, as a suspect. They also linked him to another open case that allegedly happened in 2002 involving a 7-year-old girl.

Webster Parish police took Meshell into custody April 17. He is now being held in Caddo Parish on more than $100,000 bond.

Detectives believe Meshell may have molested other victims, and he may face more charges.
