East Texas Walmart: Second bomb threat in week

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Another bomb scare was reported Sunday at an East Texas Walmart.

Earlier today, the Walmart store in the 4000 block of New Boston Road in Texarkana received a threatening a call around noon. The store was evacuated for a short time, police said.

The Texarkana, TX police said the same procedures were followed today as in a similar situation last week. On Friday, the same store received a bomb threat.

Three other Walmarts in Ashdown, AR, Texarkana, AR and New Boston, TX also were threatened Friday within minutes of the Texarkana store.

In the Ashdown case, police identified the suspect as William Dudley Edwards. He's now wanted on a charge of threatening fire or bombing.

No explosive devices were found in Sunday's threat. Police said Walmart employees were asked to check their work stations for possible dangerous items.
