LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Department of Public Safety Troopers teamed up with Longview Police Friday evening, arresting more than half a dozen people in eight hours for driving while intoxicated.

Officials say there were no check points Friday night to try and catch these drivers, but the number of people arrested surprises them.

Three of the individuals arrested, Manuel Benaviez, Miguel Martinez, and Carlos Saenz, have each been charged with their third DWI.

Daniel Bowen, Estevan Olevera, Steven Wornat, and Juan Hernandez were also arrested for DWI on Friday evening. They are being held in the Gregg County Jail.

Five additional arrests were made for public intoxication.
