LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - LeTourneau University, like most schools, has not been known for breaking world records...until now.

On April 4, LeTourneau students gathered 108 computers, 108 3-D printers, and 108 students, and tried to get at least 50 of them running at the same time. The students were successful, getting 102 of the 3-D printers working at the same time.

School officials said Thursday that they have gotten official confirmation from representatives of Guinness World Records that the students did, indeed, set a record that day.

One of the most interesting things about the attempt was the fact that many of the printers were made by other printers the students put together themselves. These smart students give us all one more reason to be proud of East Texas!
