LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A retired Longview police officer has been indicted for aggravated sexual assault.

Leland Thomas Carver, 69 of Longview, has been indicted by Gregg County Grand Jury for the 124th District Court.

The arrest affidavit says Carver sexually assaulted a female, under 14-years-old. The most recent assault allegedly occurred on December 28, 2013 at Carver's home in the 300 block of Montclair Street in Longview.

The affidavit goes on to say the alleged assault occurred over a period of several years. The girl told authorities that Carver told her not to tell anyone "because she would be taken away from her family and sent to a place where they send kids who are bad."

The victim also found "inappropriate" videos of herself undressing on a cell phone.

Longview Police Officer Kristie Brian says Carver retired from the Longview Police Department over 10 years ago.
