An East Texas man was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison Wednesday for possessing a stolen firearm.

Kerry Lynn Sanders, 29, pled guilty to possessing the stolen firearm on December 4, 2013. According to information presented in court, Sanders was stopped by deputies from the Wood County Sheriff's Office for outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody and his vehicle was then searched.

Deputies discovered a 20-gauge shotgun behind the driver's seat of Sander's vehicle. He admitted that the shotgun was stolen.

Sanders was indicted by a federal grand jury on September 25, 2013 for possessing the shotgun after having been previously convicted of multiple felony crimes, including theft, attempted evading arrest with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and aggravated robbery.
