During the springtime months in East Texas, everyone enjoys getting outside for some fun with family and friends. Here are some activities you might want to get in on around the area:
Tyler: Church on the Move Easter egg hunt - 1101 SSW Loop 323. More than 10,000 eggs containing candy will be hidden and prizes, including a bike, will be given away. The hunt will be a part of the church's 10 a.m. Easter service. For more information, please visit COTMTyler.org.

Colonial Hills Baptist Church - "Eggstreme Egg Hunt" at 10 a.m. - 7,000 eggs will be ready on recreation fields, divided into four hunts based on age: Birth-2 years, 3 & 4 years, K-1st grade, and 2-3 grade. Stay after for a pancake breakfast with prizes and family picture opportunities. 7330 S. Broadway.
Rose Heights Easter Eggstravaganza - Saturday at 11 a.m. - 903-566-2080 - For kids pre-K through 5 th grade. Big prizes, lots of eggs and free food. 2120 Old Omen Road.
Breezester 2014 - 2-4 p.m. - The largest Easter egg hunt in East Texas - in Bergfeld Park - 1510 S. College Ave. Thousands and thousands of eggs! Also, other activities for all ages, including bounce houses, face painting, live music by The Breeze, dunking booth, TaiChi, and egg hunt, which starts at 2 p.m.
Dayspring UMC will be hosting an Easter service at Bergfeld Park at 11 a.m. If it rains, the service will be moved to the church at 310 West Cumberland Road in Tyler.
Rock Hill Baptist Church's Easter Egg helicopter drop - 40,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes like Toys R Us gift cards, iPads, and more. Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Brownsboro High School track. The field will be divided into three zones by age groups (K-1st Grade, 2nd-3rd Grade, 4th-6th Grade). Zones will be marked by colors and signs. There will be a separate egg hunt for children ages infant to Pre-Kindergarten at 11:30am. Once the helicopter has dropped the eggs the children will be allowed to run on to their section of the field and grab their eggs! When you arrive all children and families will need to enter through one of the designated entrance locations. With the exception of handicapped children, parents of school age children will be allowed to stand with their children on the track surrounding the field, but will not be allowed to enter the field with their children. No older siblings on the field. The egg drop will take place at 11:15am. Longview:
Spring Festival at Community Connections building, 501 Pine Tree Road across from Kid's Station. Free massive Easter egg hunt at 2:15 p.m. Thousands of eggs filled with prizes. Games, door prizes, concession stand (turkey legs, caramel apples, nachos, popcorn, hot dogs), sno-balls and raffles. Tickets will be on sale at the designated ticket booth area for purchase (tickets needed for food and to play various games.) This event is a fundraiser for Beautiful, Inc. Longview Museum of Fine Arts presents Color Eggstravaganza - fun games and prizes at LMFA, Artworks classroom, and the JT Smith Sculpture garden. Bunny brunch, cupcake decorating, ceramic egg painting, Easter egg roll . Hallsville: 5th annual Day in the Park for Hallsville Outreach Center. This is an activity-packed, fun-filled Saturday with a community garage sale, 5K (8 a.m.) and at 10 a.m. children's activities, egg hunt, bounce house, silent auction, booths, an open house, brisket/hamburger/hot dog lunch, much more until 2 p.m. Funds raised will help keep shelves, fridges and freezers full of nutritious foods for local clients in need in the Hallsville ISD boundaries. A hoppin' good time with the Easter Bunny! Saturday at 11 a.m. - Bring the kids out for Easter fun, candy and a visit with the Easter bunny at The Chapel in the park. April 19th the City of Palestine Parks & Recreation Department will host a FREE "Egg-Normous" Easter Egg Hunt at 11:00am sharp at the Athletic Complex at 128 Armory Road behind the Civic Center. Three age groups (ages 1-3, 4-7, and 8-10) will be in their own baseball field to hunt eggs. Six lucky little ones in each age group will find the Golden Eggs to be exchanged for an "Egg-Normous" prize! We will also have entertainment including a DJ, live rabbits and chicks, bounce houses, obstacle course, face-painting, Korn Pop the clown will blow up balloons, and more! All entertainment is FREE!
