Carthage, Spring Hill Look To Extend Season In 16-3A

This we know for sure. The Tatum Eagles are good.

The Eagles have qualified for the playoffs, and clinched at least part of the district 16-3A championship. At 2-2, the Center Roughriders are also in. But past that, two of the other three teams in the district still have high hopes to wind up in the playoffs.

The Carthage Bulldogs have the shortest route, but not an easy one. Carthage will make the playoffs as co-district champions with a win Friday night. The Bulldogs are at Tatum, and will be without leading rusher Karlldaris Beechum, who is lost for the season with a broken leg.

The Spring Hill Panthers have a big game Friday night against traditional rival White Oak. The Panthers can make the playoffs with a win and a loss by Carthage. That would create a three-way tie, with Carthage being the odd team out.

A loss by both teams would put Carthage into the playoffs.
