PARIS, TX (KLTV) - A one-vehicle accident killed three Paris, TX teens around 12:47 a.m. Sunday.

The Department of Public Safety says that the 2006 Chevrolet pick-up truck the teens were riding in was speeding on Farm to Market Road 906 just south of the Texas-Oklahoma state line, before it ran off of the road, hitting a tree.

The truck was carrying eight passengers, over the maximum capacity of the vehicle. Only one person was believed to be wearing a seat belt. Others were sharing seats and a few of the teens were even sitting on laps.

Three teens, one male and two females, were killed when they were ejected from the vehicle: the driver, Robert Russel, 18, of Paris;  Colbie Miller, 19 of Paris; and Bailee Sims, 19 of Paris.

DPS believe that alcohol played a factor in the accident.

WFAA in Dallas reported that the remaining passengers were transported to area hospitals following the accident.
Joshua Chitsey, 18 of Mt. Vernon, was taken by air ambulance to Plano Medical Center, where his condition is stable.

Dylan Stephens, 18, from Paris, was transported to Paris Regional Medical Center by ambulance, along with John Oud, 18, from Mt. Vernon, Colby White, 18, from Mt. Vernon, and Brittney Ann Beshirs, 18, from Reno. Stephens, White, and Beshirs have reportedly been released from medical care, while Oud, still at Paris Regional, is in stable condition.
