TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of East Texas until 6:00 a.m., Monday morning.

Strong Storms are expected to move through a good portion of East Texas between now and tomorrow morning. Some of these storms could drop some very heavy rain, produce lots of lightning, small hail and wind gusts near 50-60 mph in the strongest storms. Most of the storms should move from West to East or from the NW to the SE overnight.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of East Texas under a "Slight Risk" for severe weather through 7 a.m. Monday.

The major threat to these storms will be large hail (over an inch in diameter). We could also see damaging winds (over 60 mph), heavy rain at times, and even isolated tornadoes. A cold front will continue to build to the east, into East Texas after sunset. We'll continue to see a chance for storms, but the severe threat will diminish behind the front overnight.

Highs will get cooler for Monday, near 60. The chance for showers will continue through Monday afternoon. Skies will clear as winds become light Monday night, allowing lows to drop into the mid 30s. We could experience frost in some locations Tuesday morning.
