33-year-old Upshur Co. man identified as crash victim

UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An Upshur County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Monday evening.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said 33-year-old Shahzad Ali Sultan of Ore City was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident just after 5 p.m. The crash occurred on Farm to Market 1649 near Ore City.

Sultan was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a tree. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The Upshur County Sheriff's Office, DPS, Gilmer Fire Department and Diana Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident.
