The Tyler Public Library is celebrating National Library Week with a contest that you'll want to enter with your family!

National Library Week is April 13-19, 2014, and to celebrate, the Tyler library is hosting a Lego Designs Family Contest from Monday, April 14 through Thursday, April 17 from 5:15 to 6:45 each night in the story room.

Families are invited to come create designs based on their favorite books using Lego building blocks, provided by the library. All you need to bring is your creativity and imagination!

“Combining hands-on creative work with family time is a win-win for our community’s children,” said Youth Services Librarian Linda Gray. “It is also a great opportunity to show what the Library has to offer as we celebrate National Library Week.”

Judging will take place on Monday, April 21, for the project that most closely resembles a book and has the most creative design. Winners will receive a Lego prize package, and all entries will be displayed in the library throughout the month of April.

This week-long program replaces the library's regular monthly Lego Block Party which will resume on May 17.

Visit or call 903-593-7323 for more details. The library is located at 201 S. College Avenue in downtown Tyler.
