LSUS' Breland named RRAC Player of the Week

William Breland of LSU Shreveport (La.) was named Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week award for March 31-April 6. This is the 10th set of weekly awards for the 2014 season and he is the 6th different Pilots player to win a weekly RRAC award.

Breland, a sophomore third baseman from Natchitoches, La., recorded a hit and an RBI in every game of a 3-2 week for the Pilots. He was 2-for-2 in a loss to fourth-ranked Southern Arkansas University, and he had a pair of hits in each of the first three games of a four-game series against Texas College. He capped the series with two RBIs in a 6-5 loss. In the field, Breland started a 5-4-3 double play, while racking up four put-outs and 10 assists. In all, he had six RBIs as the seventh-ranked Pilots advanced to 14-2 in conference play and 32-10 overall.
