COPY-Defense offer more evidence in shoe-stabbing trial

HOUSTON (AP) - Defense attorneys continue to present their case in the trial of a Houston woman accused of murdering a man by stabbing him with the stiletto heel of her shoe.

Ana Trujillo (troo-HEE'-yoh) is accused of striking 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson at least 25 times in the face with her shoe during an argument in June at his Houston condominium. The 45-year-old defendant's attorneys contend she was defending herself from an attack by Andersson.

Prosecutors rested their case on Friday in a state district court in Houston. The first defense witness told the Harris County jury that Andersson would regularly drink heavily at a Houston golf course snack bar. Andersson's friends have previously testified he had a drinking problem.

If convicted of murder, Trujillo faces up to life in prison.
