The TISD bond election has been overwhelmingly supported by voters from the start. It passed last night with the final numbers showing 68 percent of the school district voting in favor of the 96-million dollar bond.
Officials say breaking down the project into phases made the goal more realistic to accomplish.
TISD Superintendent, Dr. David Simmons says, "it's a reduced scale of what was presented to voters. That's one thing to consider in the level of support. Dr. Simmons says he thinks the plan was "much more comprehensive" and "all-inclusive" making it easier to communicate.
