LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A pawn shop in Gregg County is now a drive-thru after a truck crashed through the building early Thursday morning.

The Longview Police Department said officers responded to an incident at Cherokee Pawn Shop at 2725 Gilmer Road just after midnight. Police say a truck believed to be stolen drove into the pawn shop. Officers said the truck may have been taken by juveniles.

Because the suspects in this crime are minors, details are limited.

Store owner Gary Weaver said six shotguns were taken from his store. He is hopeful the guns will be recovered quickly. Weaver said the store will remain open despite the damage.

Jerry Weaver, who manages the pawn shop, said the thieves attempted to cut power to the store in order to take out the alarm system, but accidentally cut the cable to the air conditioning system instead. He says the suspects abandoned the stolen truck inside the shop, taking off on foot.

Police responded to the scene within two minutes of the alarm sounding.
