TJC Athletics Release

In a press release just distributed by the NJCAA National Office, the city of Kinston, North Carolina has been awarded the NJCAA DIII Baseball World Series in 2015-2017. Tyler has hosted this event since 2007, and did submit a bid to host it again.

"Obviously, I am very disappointed we did not receive the bid," said Athletic Director Tim Drain. "I know I have thoroughly enjoyed hosting this event since 2007, and I know a lot of volunteers and community members are hurting right now after hearing this news. But I know that we will put on a great show in 2014, and live up to the standards that we have set with previous tournaments.

The dates for the 2014 World Series are May 24-29th at Mike Carter Field. The popular free kids clinic featuring participating teams will be on Thursday, May 22nd at 6pm.
