Posted: Updated:
Good afternoon, everyone!

Here are some stories for you to peruse this afternoon:

1. The Supreme Court's conservative majority voted Wednesday to free wealthy donors to give to as many political candidates and campaigns as they want, further loosening the reins on giving by big contributors as the 2014 campaign moves into high gear.

2. Is it really illegal to pick bluebonnets in Texas? That's what many say. Here is the truth, from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

3. A federal judge on Wednesday halted two executions in Texas, declaring that the state's prison system must disclose to defense attorneys more information about the supplier of a new batch of lethal-injection drugs. U.S. District Judge Vanessa Gilmore issued a temporary injunction halting the executions of Tommy Lynn Sells, a convicted serial killer who was set to die Thursday, and Ramiro Hernandez-Llanas, another inmate scheduled to die next week.

4. Authorities locate missing Longview teen in Cass County. Police say her mother is on the way to pick her up.

5. A dump truck bed fell on a man in Longview today while he was working on it. He was rushed to Good Shepherd Medical Center for care. His condition is unknown at this time.

6. Texas Monthly magazine made a list of the best barbecue sandwiches in Texas, and at the very top of the list was East Texas' own Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue. Now they've teamed up with Stanley's again, this time heading up to New York City with him. Check it out here.

Aufdenburg and Maynard (Hopkins Co. Sheriff's Office)

7. Sulphur Springs police have arrested 20-year-old Robert James Aufdenburg and 19-year-old Katie Lynn Maynard and charged them with serious bodily injury to a child by reckless omission. The couple's three-month-old was taken to a hospital with burns on its head and foot, and other injuries.
