BULLARD, TX (KLTV) -

The Bullard community is pulling together to raise money for one of their own who was recently diagnosed with rapid-onset dementia. Their latest fundraising event was a fishing tournament Saturday on Lake Palestine.

High school fishing teams from all over texas came to compete and bullard high school took first and second place.

The students raised around 5-thousand dollars for Kirk Russell and his family. Russell has rapid-onset dementia and is unable to work.

He has five children and the community is making sure the family gets the support they need.
