Born and raised in Mansfield, Texas, Sarah Fletcher joined the Storm Tracker Weather team in March of 2014 and couldn’t be happier to join the East Texas News Leader.
As a native Texan, Sarah’s interest in weather sparked from a young age. The severe weather of the region, along with the quickly changing weather patterns, prompted her passion for Meteorology.
As part of an Aggie family, when it came time to pick a college, Texas A&M was an easy choice. When she wasn’t studying Meteorology, Sarah spent her time getting involved with the community through philanthropic service. As an officer of the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha, she enjoyed working with members to promote Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, partnering with Susan G. Komen, Yoplait, and the NFL.
While in school, Sarah had the opportunity to intern in Dallas, learning from local meteorologists that she had grown up idolizing.
After graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree in Meteorology, Sarah began to “live the dream,” working as the Morning Meteorologist for an ABC station in Montana. During her time in Montana, Sarah forecasted blizzards, hurricanes, and even tornados.
Sarah is glad to be back in her home state, ready to deliver accurate and reliable forecasts to East Texas. When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys cheering on the Fighting Texas Aggies, painting, sketching, reading, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors.
