BOWIE CO., TX (KSLA) -

Bowie County authorities are now saying that a man who perished on Lake Wright Patman Wednesday drowned.

The body of Larry Kim Scrivner, 71 of Texarkana, TX was pulled out of the water by boaters. Bowie County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jeff Neal said a preliminary autopsy report showed that Scrivner died by drowning. Cardiovascular disease also contributed to his death, Neal said.

Sheriff's deputies say they got a call about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to the North Shore Park boat ramp. Boaters out on the lake called deputies about a boat going in circles. By the time deputies arrived, the boaters had found a man floating face down. The boaters pulled the victim from the water and came back to shore.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is being considered an accident, Neal said.

Agents with the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, the Army Corp of Engineers, and Bowie County volunteer firefighters also responded to the call.
