SFA rallies in OT to beat VCU

San Diego, CA (KLTV) - Twelfth-seeded Stephen F. Austin led 5th seeded Virginia Commonwealth 36 to 30 at the half, but had to battle back in the second half. SFA would send the game to overtime and pull off a thriller.

VCU went on a 20 to 3 run and took a 50-43 lead in the second half. The Jacks kept their composure, though and stayed within reach. Down by four with 3.6 seconds left, Desmond Haymon hit a three-    pointer and was fouled on the play. Haymon knocked down the free throw to complete the four-point play. The Jacks and the Rams then headed to overtime.

In overtime, the Jacks held on to take home the win 77 to 75 over VCU.

SFA is scheduled to play UCLA at 6:10 p.m. on Sunday on TBS in San Diego with a spot in the Sweet Sixteen on the line.
