Possum Festival Held In Rhonesboro

It's a bizarre small town celebration that the people on Rhonesboro wait for all year,  the annual tribute to,  the possum. It was the 23rd annual "possum-fest" held in the tiny community,  population somewhere around 200.

There were arts and crafts, a possum 5 and 10 k run, a parade complete with civil war re-enactors. And of course, "possums".

Visitors came from as far away as New York and even Holland. Organizers say the quirky event has an amazing appeal. Over 15-hundred visitors attended todays festival.
