Texas College Receives Million Dollar Donation

A staple of the East Texas community gained major help in its efforts towards expansion.
Texas College received a $2 million donation from the College of Bishops of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Bishops from across the United States were on hand for Friday's presentation. The school's president said the donation will be put to good use.
"It helps us with recruitment," said Texas College President Billy Hawkins. "It helps us with sustaining our present students here and it helps us to send a message to the community at large and throughout the United States the importance of this institution."
Over the past decade the C.M.E church has given almost $12 million  to Texas College. Texas College is one of only four C.M.E churches in the United States.
