Bald in the 'Boro shaves heads for good cause

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Dozens of people lined up Friday in Rutherford County to shave their heads for charity. It was all part of the annual Bald in the 'Boro event to raise money for the Saint Baldrick's Foundation.

That organization supports families with children who have cancer and research.

At this year's event, more than 140 people lined up to shave their heads and show their support for the cause.

"There are people here who have personally been touched by a child with cancer, but there are many people here though who have not. They just know someone they go to church with or work with, or they just have a big heart and they want to come out and help in any way they can," said organizer Denise Flanagan.

Several families with children in remission were there to share their stories and show what those donations fund.

It's the fourth year for Bald in the 'Boro.
