Suspects in attempted ATM theft identified, one still wanted

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Authorities in Smith County have released the names of two suspects allegedly involved in a Thursday morning theft attempt.
The Smith County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Winston Barnes is wanted in connection with an attempted ATM theft at Kelly Federal Credit Union on Highway 31. An additional suspect, identified as 35-year-old Steven Prior, was taken into custody this morning.
Barnes is wanted for unlawful use of a criminal instrument, theft of property and evading arrest. The sheriff's office say they expect other burglary cases to be cleared because of this investigation.
Anyone with information regarding Barnes' whereabouts is asked to contact the Smith County Sheriff's Office at 903-566-6600.
Around 2:41 a.m. Thursday, deputies received a 911 call from an individual who reported that they were observing two men using what appeared to be a cutting torch on the outdoor ATM at Kelly Federal Credit Union. Multiple deputies responded to the call and both men fled. Tyler police were called in to help search the area for the men.
Prior was found hiding behind a building and was arrested.
