Sheriff: 2 adults, 1 juvenile arrested while trying to flee burgled home in Smith Co.

NOONDAY, TX (KLTV) - Three people - two adults and a juvenile - are in custody on Tuesday morning after they attempted to flee a Smith County home, according to the Smith County Sheriff's Department.

Smith County Sheriff's Public Information Officer John Moore says deputies responded to a burglar alarm at a home in the 12900 block of County Road 168 near Noonday just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived at the house, deputies found the suspected burglars tried to flee in a vehicle, hit a fence on the property and got stuck. The suspects had already stolen some items from the home when they tried to flee.

The two adults were identified as Tyler residents. Eduardo Garcia and Gilberto Rodriguez, both 19. The identity of the juvenile has not been released.

All three were arrested for burglary of a habitation and have been taken to the Smith County Jail.
