Happy Monday! We hope you're enjoying this beautiful, sunny day.

Here are some stories for you to check out today:

1. Three adorable lion cubs who live at the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler need names! The zoo is asking for your help choosing their names; learn how you can help choose here.

2. The juvenile who was shot by police after an attempted robbery Sunday evening in Longview has been identified.  Longview Independent School District released a statement Monday regarding the death of 15-year-old Justin Aguilar.

3. This story is a reminder for each of us to know our neighbors, and to check on them: An Alabama woman suffers from Alzheimer's disease. After not having seen the woman or her husband for four weeks, neighbors finally called police to do a welfare check. The police were able to get inside the home, and found that the woman's husband had passed away in bed weeks ago, and the woman was unaware of her surroundings and was in poor condition inside the home.

4. If you'd like to support downtown Tyler and the small businesses which have made it home, you'll be interested to know that a "cash mob" will descend upon two businesses on Thursday, March 13:  Salon Verve and 8th Street Boutique, both small, locally-owned businesses. Hours for the cash mob are 4:30-7:00 p.m. and the entire community is invited to participate.

5. Kilgore police are looking for information about a recent hit-and-run that occurred at the intersection of Highway 31 and Highway 135. On March 1, at around 6:00 a.m., an unknown driver hit a motorcyclist from behind and fled the scene. The motorcyclist suffered numerous injuries and the other driver failed to help in any way. If you think you know who the driver may be, call 903-218-6905.

6. Sad insight: In his most extensive public comments about the 2012 Connecticut school massacre, the father of gunman Adam Lanza describes his anguished struggle to comprehend what his son did - an act that "couldn't get any more evil" - and how he has come to wish that his son had never been born.

7. Five inmates were taken to a local hospital after smoking K2 inside an East Texas jail. One of the inmates had the K2 on him when he was booked in to jail, and shared it with four others. One of the men had an adverse reaction, so all were taken in for medical care.
