East Texas man shoots free throws for 24 hours

CHANDLER, TX (KLTV) -

What we're you doing at six o'clock Friday morning?

East Texan Tom Booth was at Chandler First Assembly of God, shooting free throws.  It's a 24 hour marathon.

Booth is raising money for local and foreign missions.

It's called 'Free Throws for Souls.'

Booth's goal is to raise 30 thousand dollars and to make more than 16 thousand shots.

He gets a ten minute break every hour.  Then it's back to the free throw line.

"The toughest thing is just the mental aspect of getting through that hour," said Booth. "Just to try and make the shots, just so my body will make it 24 hours. Different things have happened. My wrist starting knotting up in hour 5 and then I had to shoot underhand for several hours. Other than that, I'm just making it."
