TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

A Texarkana Federal Court denied bond Friday for most of the defendants in a federal drug roundup in Southwest Arkansas.

Conner Eldridge, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, said 11 people have been charged with federal crimes involving large-scale drug trafficking of methamphetamine in Hempstead and Howard counties.

The arrests were made Thursday and ten of the suspects were denied bond by the magistrate Friday. According to a statement from Eldridge's office, those charged are: Adrian Dabila Aranda, 34; Ishmael Aranda, Jr., 19; Christian Archer, 29; Laquan D. Haynes, 29; James L. Block, 24; Brodney J. Dixon, 28; Billy R. Florence, 31; Lamario D. Henderson, 25; Carlos Leonel Silva, 29; Phil Stuard, Jr., 30; and Deshawn G. White, 25, all from the Hope area.

"We feel this case represents our determination to make sure that people who traffic methamphetamine in our communities are going to be sought after and are going to be arrested and prosecuted in federal court," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Quinn.

The arrests would not have been possible without the cooperation of several Southwest Arkansas law enforcement agencies, Quinn said. The next court date for these defendants has not yet been set.
