New Sabine ISD construction site hit by burglars again
LIBERTY CITY, TX (KLTV) -
Authorities are searching for individuals who may have been involved in a burglary at an East Texas school construction site.
The Gregg County Sheriff's Office said Friday that five companies associated with the construction of the new Sabine Independent School District building at 645 Access Road in Liberty City were burglarized between 6:45 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday.
An unknown number of suspects damaged portable buildings and steel boxes in order to steal tools and equipment. Some of the stolen tools include gas and electric hammers, saws, drills, nail guns, air compressors, copper fittings and chains. Inventories of the stolen items are in progress and values are expected to exceed thousands of dollars.
On November 7, 2013, $60,000 worth of copper wire was taken from the site.
