Fire crews on scene at the business on Pine Tree Road
A black Ford pick-up crashed into the business
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Emergency crews responded to a Longview business Friday morning after a truck crashed into the building.
According to Johnny Zackary with the Longview Fire Department, a three-quarter ton Ford pick-up was traveling on Pine Tree Road around 7:45 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck left the roadway, hitting a telephone pole before crashing into Pine Tree Nails.
The driver of the pick-up suffered minor injuries and a five-year-old passenger was uninjured. A blood sample was collected from the driver and will be tested.
The business was not open when the incident occurred and no one was inside.
"If they hit by noon; today's Friday. We'd have trouble but we're lucky," says store manager Thai Thach.
Thach said it could be up to three months before the store is open for business again.
The structural integrity of the building will have to be tested. For now, the Longview Fire Department has braced up the roof.
