All Saints softball star heads to Ivy League

All Saints celebrated an impressive achievement on Thursday morning.  Softball standout Maddie Smith signed with Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

Smith will become just the second All Saints student athlete in the last two decades to compete at an Ivy League school.

"I'm so excited and thrilled," said Smith.  "My academics were really hard and All Saints prepared me for that. It's difficult and a lot of work, but it's possible if you believe and you want to do it. I just hope I leave a positive impact so I can inspire other kids that want to do the same thing and play collegiate softball."

The All Saints senior choose Dartmouth over Harvard and Georgetown.

Smith was the District Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2013 and was named second team all state.
