A Tyler attorney will soon appear in court, not representing a defendant, but appearing as one.
Jon David Curry, 49, is charged with burglary and aggravated assault, accused of breaking into his girlfriend's home and breaking her fingers and toes.
He was arrested last month and bonded out of jail.
His victim: Melanie McElfatrick.
Back in 1997, Curry ran for Smith County court-at-law judge and he also played in his Bullard Church band.
Curry was previously on deferred probation for an assault-family violence charge.
