1. Smith County Sheriff Deputy Tim McDonald was stopped at a light in his official vehicle this morning when an SUV driven by Chris Caldwell of Tyler slammed into the back of his vehicle. McDonald was transported to the hospital for care. Happily, officials say that McDonald has now been released from the hospital.

2.  An accident Tuesday night in Kilgore took the life of 27-year-old Brice Goodgion. An oncoming vehicle crossed the line on Hwy 31 and collided head-on with Goodgion's truck, authorities say.

3.  A picture of a dog being hanged inside a dog grooming business in NC is going viral; a former employee says that he took the picture inside the business, but the owner says he is sabotaging her and set the picture up himself.

5. The former IRS official at the heart of the controversy over the agency's targeting of conservative groups once again refused to answer questions at a House hearing Wednesday amid signs that a congressional investigation into the affair may be stalling.

6. Huntington man on trial for intoxicated manslaughter: 'I'm very sorry.' Pathology reports say William Hooks' blood alcohol content was .186, over twice the legal limit at the time of the accident which killed Lester Lee Banks.
