From the Van Zandt County Constable - Precinct 4:

VAN ZANDT CO - Roadways and highways, especially Interstate 20 are extremely hazardous. Motorists are urged to stay home unless it is an emergency.

At various times in the last 12 hours, every wrecker service in Van Zandt County has been pushed to their limits while attempting to help motorists.

Every law enforcement agency and most fire departments were out working accidents, slide-offs and stuck vehicles. Sheriff Lindsey Ray, concerned that motorist would have to wait too long to be rescued, himself took to Interstate 20 along with several deputies and pulled vehicle after vehicle out and more than several semi trucks.

While Interstate 20 had to be closed briefly to allow stuck vehicles to be removed, usually just for a short time.

Texas DPS Troopers, Canton PD, Van PD, Van FD, Van Zandt SO, and Van Zandt Co Pct. 4 Constables along with Grand Saline PD, And Wills Point PD all were out in force helping Motorists.
