At least 40,000 East Texas are without power right now due to winter weather. Oncor tells us additional crews from Dallas are currently heading in to assist local crews.
SWEPCO also has additional crews coming in to aid. Fallen branches have caused most of the outages. Several others were caused by ice coating the wires and causing them to break.

Neither company has an estimated time of when power will be back on, but both said crews will be on scene throughout the night until power is restored.
